Interactive Travel Blog

So instead of doing an incredibly long blog i decided to do a bit of a different style of blog. i have created a google map that retraces my entire trip. it has tags at all the places i stopped and each tag has a caption and some photos. google has not worked out all the kinks but hopefully it will be easier to view it than to create it. start up in the north east with the blue tag.(i know i need to edit this but too tired right now, just want to publish this post) Enjoy my trip!

Travel Blog!

So I finally made it back to my school in my tiny village Wangrasae. this was an amazing trip that i don't think ill ever be able to match. it was a total of 53 days and _____ kilometers( haha sorry again, i am to tired to look up how far i traveled. i calculated it once but forgot. will fill in later) I traveled alone for about half the time and the other half i traveled with the other volunteers. i would do about a week alone, a week with the other volunteers, a week alone... I really enjoyed traveling both ways and am grateful for having the opportunity to do both. there were perks about traveling either way and not many down sides bc traveling is just too much fun! its hard to have a downside about traveling. i met some really great people from all over the world. it has opened my eyes to so many different ways of life but all the travelers had traveling in common and so striking up conversation was always easy no matter where they were from. i got to see A LOT of thailand and A LOT of really cool places and got some great photos. as much fun as it was, when the trip was coming to an end, i was ok with it and i was ready to head back to my village. i have realized that traveling and living in another country are two completely different things. again, they both have their perks but they are just different. i feel like in order to really get a sense of the culture, you have to live in that culture.  i am so grateful that i have gotten to do both in this amazing country and i can not stress enough how much i encourage everyone to take a trip to a new place that is completely different from what you are used to. it can be a bit scary taking that first step out of your comfort zone, but it is completely worth it. you' ll learn so much about other people, other ways of life, and other ways of thinking. you will also learn so much about yourself and you will be amazed by how much you grow as a person. you just have to keep an open mind to things and remember that just because someone does something different, it doesn't mean that its wrong... its just different. the more that you accept things that are different the more tolerant you will become and i believe many of our problems in this world will be solved. so thanks again to all the people who gave a donation to help make this experience happen. and thanks to all my family, friends, and teachers who have loved and supported me over the years because i would not be where i am today if it wasn't for yall.
